The establishment of Archconfraternity of the Holy Face
The Confraternity of the Holy Face was established on October 25, 1884, only one year later, on October 1, 1885, Pope Leo XIII declared that the Confraternity of the Holy Face of Tours be elevated to the status of an archconfraternity. This petition included special recommendations by over fifty prelates, including five cardinals.
When members of the Archconfraternity of the Holy Face make prayers and reparations, it is as if they are each like Saint Veronica, breaking through the mob to console the Face of Jesus. God calls modern man to combat Communism with the Holy Face and engage himself in the spiritual warfare of the age. Jesus offers us the Archconfraternity of the Holy Face as the supernatural armament heaven has given man to defeat his enemies.
The Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to Sister Marie of St. Peter in 1848 and told her:
“the more the army of God would be augmented, the more the army of Satan would be weakened.”
Souls devoted to the Holy Face are needed to join this fight, which is, according to Pope Blessed Pius IX, “destined to save society”. Jesus promises this devotion will: “defeat communism“ and “bring salvation to the masses.”

Jesus pleads with France
A Devotion Rejected
The Fall of France
Jesus requested the King of France do three things:
1. Engrave the Sacred Heart on the weapons of France.
2.Fly His Sacred Heart as a standard everywhere in the Kingdom.
3.Make a solemn act of consecration on behalf of France to the Sacred Heart.
France, the Eldest Daughter of Christendom, was the chosen
target for the revolutionaries to ignite their infernal plan to destroy all the Christian monarchies of Europe, and their archenemy, the Holy Roman Catholic Church.
St. margaret
mary alacoque
Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque (1647-1690) was a French Visitation nun and mystic whom Jesus chose to spread devotion to His Sacred Heart as a means of saving France from the secret plots of revolutionary men.
In the year 1689, St. Margaret Mary travelled to Versailles to visit King Louis XIV, known as the “Sun King”, to give him a simple warning, that he should consecrate his entire nation of France to His Sacred Heart and to build a chapel where His Sacred Heart could be adored. He was told by doing so, France’s glory would be magnified. At this time, King Louis XIV was the most powerful Christian monarch in Europe, France had a Christian culture and a huge powerful army, which at the time remained undefeated.
It wishes to reign in his palace, to be painted on his standards and engraved on his arms, in order to render him victorious over all his enemies.”
By the time King Louis IVX eventually made the Act of Consecration of France to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, it was too late. The National Convention had already become the governing body of France and he was no longer the head of state.
Unfortunately for France, and consequently the rest of Europe, the neglect of the French monarchy to arm themselves with the weapons and standards of the Sacred Heart of Jesus would cause the destruction of the monarchy and the attempted destruction of the church by the hands of the revolutionary men.
THE FRENCH REVOLUTION
THE FRENCH REVOLUTION
Jesus confided to His great love for France, the Eldest Daughter of European Christianity to Sister Margaret Mary Alacoque.
France was on the brink of revolution and God was about to punish her for her sins.
He said “Make known to the eldest son of My Heart,” speaking of the King, “that his temporal birth was obtained through devotion to the merits of my holy childhood, in the same manner he will obtain his birth of grace and eternal glory by the consecration that he will make of himself to my Adorable Heart, which wishes to triumph over his heart and by his mediation over the great ones of the world.
Exactly 100 years to the day of St. Margaret Mary’s warning to King Louis XIV, the French Revolution broke out in France and his grandson, King Louis XVI, was publicly beheaded by guillotine.
The brave Vendee fought against the French Revolutionaries by making standards of the Sacred Heart and engraving it on their weapons.
France failed to heed this call and communism gained its foothold. Nation after nation would eventually fall to its ideology, but Jesus had not given up on France; only 44 years later, He would appear to another French nun to offer humanity a form of mystical combat that He promised would defeat the revolutionaries...
The Holy Face Devotion
Mystical Combat for a Communist Age
1843
1848
“Arise, O Lord! and let Thy enemies be scattered, and let them that hate Thee flee from before Thy Face.”
The Story of the Holy Face Devotion
This story is about a great hidden devotion which has been awaiting its appointed time; that time is now!
It involves a great public miracle which coincided with the creation of the communist manifesto which would eventually sweep the world and be adopted as the charter of the United Nations.
Jesus foresaw the rise of this anti-God ideology and how it would enslave humanity. The French had rejected the Sacred Heart and suffered the horrors of the French Revolution. Now He offers humanity His Holy Face as the means to save society.
This story involves a French Carmelite nun, a lawyer on the way to sainthood; one of the greatest miracle workers the church has ever known, Popes, Doctors of the Church, and a global Archconfraternity.
“Rejoice, My Daughter, because the hour approaches when the most beautiful work underneath the sun will be born”.
Sister Marie of St. Peter 1816-1848
In 1843, Our Lord in revelations to Sister Marie of Saint Peter, a Carmelite nun in Tours, France requested devotion to His Holy Face as the means to save society from revolutionary men. These revolutionary men were plotting the destruction of the Catholic Church in France, and to impose an atheistic, communist dictatorship. These men were sent into the Church to try to destroy her from within, and into all governments to establish a new world government to enslave humanity.
Sister Marie states: “He made me see, how the Devotion of Reparation surpasses other devotions. How pleasing it is to God, as also to the Angels and the Saints, and how beneficial it is to the Church”.
The Holy Face devotion is the exterior object of adoration that repairs the evils of blasphemy. Sister Marie received the battle plan from God to make a counter revolt in the form of a mystical combat.
Jesus told Sister Marie, “Oh, if you only knew their secret and diabolical plots and their anti-Christian principles! They are waiting for a favourable day in order to inflame the whole country. To obtain mercy, ask therefore that this Work of Reparation be established”.
“He has commanded me to cross swords with the Communists who, as He told me, were sworn enemies of the Church, and of His Christ. He gave me to understand that the greatest number of these renegades were born in the bosom of the Church, of whom they now declare themselves the most bitter enemies…”
The timing was no coincidence

“He has commanded
me to cross swords
with the Communists”
The Communists of France were the quintessential traitors of the Catholic Church, as they grew up in the shadow of her great European cathedrals and mocked the lifesaving faith she taught to her subjects. We know God is using the malice of revolutionary men to punish the world instead of using the elements. The lion’s share of revolutionary men are the communists, but they are not the exclusive enemy of Christ and His Church.
Jesus said to Sister Marie of St. Peter, “It is the Communists who have dragged me from my Tabernacles, profaned and despoiled my sanctuaries, and have even dared to raise their hands against the anointed of the Lord, but their designs shall be frustrated.”
Jesus to Sister Marie of St. Peter
“I hold you in my hands as an arrow, now I will shoot forth my arrow upon my enemies. To combat them, I give you the arms of my Passion, my Cross, of which thy are enemies, as also to other instruments of my sufferings. Wage war against them with the simplicity of a child but with the courage of a valiant warrior. For this mission be signed with the blessing of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost’”.
“The armies of my enemies inflict death, but mine restore life”.
Venerable Leo Dupont
Venerable Leo Dupont was a great friend of Sister Marie of St. Peter and promoted the Holy Face Devotion for almost 30 years following her death. he is known as the “Holy Man of Tours” for the 6,000 plus miracles through his use of oil burned beside an image of the Holy Face.
When Venerable Leo Dupont was asked if the Devotion to the Holy Face would ever take off, he replied:
“…and what is more my dear, when that happy day dawns, then the light of that candle will become a spark of a chain reaction, spreading, going from one to another, and no power on earth will extinguish it! …because the Saviour promised this to Sister Marie Pierre when He said, “There is about to dawn the most beautiful work under the sun’”.
St. Therese of the Child Jesus and the Holy Face
It is interesting to note that St. Therese of Lisieux and her family
were among the first to be enrolled in the Archconfraternity
of the Holy Face. This devotion prompted her to take the name:
St. Therese of the Child Jesus and the Holy Face.
Mother Agnes of Jesus, her blood sister stated,
“However tender was her devotion to the Child Jesus, i
t cannot be compared to the devotion which she had
for the Holy Face”.
Priest and author Father Emeric Scallan wrote,
“It was the Little Flower’s devotion to the Holy Face
which drove her to unparalleled heights of sanctity”.
The Devotion
Practicing The Devotion
The Mother of All Devotions
The primary purpose of the Holy Face Devotion is to make reparation for sins against the First Three Commandments of God.
1. DENIAL OF GOD (ATHEISTIC COMMUNISM)
2. BLASPHEMY AGAINST GOD AND HIS HOLY NAME
3. PROFANATION OF SUNDAYS AND HOLY DAYS OF OBLIGATION
All those who engage in Reparation to the Holy Face are asked to salute the Holy Virgin Queen under the title of: “Our Lady of the Holy Name of God”.
The Feast Day of the Holy Face
Pope Pius XII, who approved both the Holy Face Devotion and the Holy Face medal, formally declared in 1958 that the Feast of the Holy Face of Jesus would be Shrove Tuesday (the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday) for all Roman Catholics. This is most befitting because it marks the start of lent, a period of reparation. Parishes (where permitted by a priest/ordinary) may offer a Votive Mass - Humiliavit meaning “He humbled” as decreed by Pope St. Pius X on April 27, 1910.
The Novena to the Holy Face is a 9-day Novena which culminates on the Feast Day of the Holy Face and takes us through the life of Our Lord, from Bethlehem to the Resurrection. To listen click here.
The Images of the Holy Face
The first two images above are artists’ depictions of the 1849 Great Miracle in Rome involving the Veil of Veronica. Artists were commissioned to paint an image of the miracle using descriptions provided by eyewitnesses. Reproductions of these images were printed and touched to the original Veil of Veronica, the Holy Spear of Longinus and the True Cross. They were then sent across the world to many countries for veneration.
This third image is of the Holy Face is taken from the Holy Shroud of Turin. The latest scientific studies show that intense surges of ultraviolet light created the image of the body of Jesus on the cloth. New photographic studies show his hair to be falling towards his feet, indicating He was in an upright position as the bursts of energy were emitted from His Body.
Sister Marie wrote: “Just as in an earthly kingdom,” Jesus stated, “money which is stamped with the picture of the sovereign or ruling executive of the country procures whatever one desires to purchase, so likewise in the Kingdom of Heaven, you shall obtain all that you desire by offering the coin of My precious Humanity which is my adorable Face”.
Holy Face Medals
Our Blessed Mother’s own words to Sr Pierina, the Holy Face medal is:
“a weapon for defence, a shield for courage, a token of love & mercy in these troubled days of lust, evil, loss of faith and hatred for God and for His Church.
Whoever wears this medal and, if possible, pays a weekly visit to the Blessed Sacrament on Tuesdays in a spirit of reparation to the Holy Face will be granted the gift of a strong Faith and the grace to fly to its defence conquering if need be all interior and exterior difficulties. Moreover, they will meet their death peacefully, under the loving gaze of my divine son.”
The Chaplet
The Holy Face Chaplet is the most efficacious tool of spiritual warfare to defeat Communism which has infiltrated almost every aspect of our modern culture, in education, politics and even the church.
The Chaplet of the Holy Face is a chaplet of reparation for sins and is composed of a cross, 39 beads (6 large and 33 small), and a medal of the Holy Face. The Cross reminds us of the mystery of our Redemption.

The Chaplet of the Holy Face contains the words from Holy Scripture most feared by demons:
"Arise, O Lord, and let Thy enemies be scattered, and let those that hate Thee, flee from before Thy Face.”

The Hour
Eucharistic Adoration
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is to worship Jesus Face to face. All members of the Archconfraternity of the Holy Face are encouraged to commit to at least one hour per week, preferably on Tuesdays to make reparation for sins against the first 3 Commandments.
Prayers of the Devotion
Although there are are many published variations of Holy Face prayers, this apostolate primarily uses those published in the 1887 Manual of the Archconfraternity of the Holy Face.
The most commonly associated prayer of the Holy Face Devotion is:
The Golden Arrow Prayer
“May the most holy, most sacred, most adorable, most incomprehensible and unutterable Name of God be always praised, blessed, loved, adored and glorified in Heaven, on earth, and in the hells, by all the creatures of God, and by the Sacred Heart of Our Lord Jesus Christ in the Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar. Amen.”
Our Lord, in visions to Sister Marie of Saint Peter, requested that a devotion to His Holy Face be established. He gave her the Golden Arrow prayer as a remedy to the “poisoned arrows” of blasphemy.
Reparation to the Holy Face was revealed by Jesus to be the highest form of devotion and defines it as “allied to the great Redemption and as the most noble and necessary work of our times.”

BOOK RELEASE - Preparation for Total Consecration to the Holy Face of Jesus: How God Draws the Soul into the Purgative, Illuminative, and Unitive Ways
What does devotion to the Holy Face look like? How does one live out this devotion every single day? Drawing on Fr. Reginald Garrigou-Lagrange’s The Three Conversions in the Spiritual Life and Three Ages of the Interior Life, Fr. Lawrence Carney III, author of The Secret of the Holy Face: The Devotion Destined to Save Society, guides the serious soul on a journey of spiritual progress through the Purgative, Illuminative, and Unitive Ways. He directs the soul on how to live devotion to the Holy Face of Jesus, as revealed to Sr. Marie de Saint-Pierre. In our current chaotic and stressful world, the interior life needs both peace and unity with God. In addition to the traditional spiritual path, Fr. Carney draws on the great spiritual masters who have had explicit devotion to the Holy Face. He includes several schedules to follow that conclude the consecration on specific feast days. Continue your spiritual growth from other consecrations to this highest consecration, namely, to God Himself. Bring about the Triumph of the Catholic Church, the cause for which Jesus gave the Chaplet of the Holy Face to Sister Saint-Pierre. Devotion to the Holy Face will bring you into greater intimacy with Our Lord, who humbled Himself so that we may be with Him in eternal Beatitude.
